I want to start a "Autism Awareness Walk" in my town. I don't know where to begin. Have any of you got a walk started for your community?

You're Welcome. Keep me posted and if you need help starting let me know. You would also want to start a FB Group Page and "Like" Page to network and raise awareness. Also a blog does come in handy.

Here's the IRS site you can apply for a 501(c)(3) tax exemption ID which is what you will need in the long run.

1st you would have to get a tax ID if you are planning to build your own non-profit organization to raise awareness for Autism. The Tax ID is for any expense you make if you purchase your own T-shirts or sell things to raise funds.

Here is a link that will tell you of any walking events that are going on in your town. You can either join a team or make your own team. And just show up and do the walk and raise awareness or advocate. Hope this helps.
