My ds sees his friends walk to school and from school alone... he is very upset and literally sad that he can not do this. We started letting him walk the dog this summer up and down the street. Of course he goes way to far but always comes back and I am proud of him for that. This is one thing we do when he wont go out and only wants to watch tv. Also, when he is fighting with me.
