All three of mine are and they are all on the spectrum. It seems like my highest function, Brendan, who has Aspergers is least effect with just some blue green color blindness, Peter is slightly more with blue green and yellow and oranges, Sammy who struggles the most is blue green, red orange and blue red color blind. I am color blind and we have had my middle son tested. He tested out OK but I still have my doubts as he has a lot of trouble with colors. My type has been very confusing as I don't fit any description exactly. I can only see pinks, yellows, and oranges with accuracy and only in brilliant states. I have adjusted and can usually name colors accurately although I can't explain how but can't match worth a darn. My husband hangs my clothing in set patterns so that I don't go to work looking like a fool.
We were given tips by an eye dr school school and it is one the IEP of the two that have them. No green chalk boards especially with yellow chalk. They color code their own coloring sheets with what they think the color is. Peter reads the crayons marker now but still gets messed up with things like violet red because he sees red so strong that the sees it as red not purple with a tint if red. So it is still on his IEP for high school, never realized how much coloring ( markers/ colored pencils) they still do.
Problems with picky eaters? My son only eats certain colored food. Can't afford Food Therapy. Any ideas?
