Hi all, I just joined this team a week ago and I feel so much better. It gives me so much hope. My 3and 1/2 year old is recieving SP@ school. 45mins a week. 15 per session. Its not effective. our insurance covers 60 sessions per yr. Does anyone know of a good speech and OT provider in Central NJ?

The school has to provide OT and Speech at a level that is effective for the child. If the time limits are not effective, and I cannot see how 15 mins a session could be effective, they have to change the length of sessions/teaching method/ or add additional instruction inside class during ie: reading period... This should be carried over to his para to enforce during his day. Do NOT let the school tell you what they're going to do. You take their evaluations and plan, review it, talk to your pedi/social worker/etc, and DO NOT accept the IEP if you have disagreements. Its a collaberation. And you can call a team meeting anytime.
@A MyAutismTeam Member thanks will definately look into it.
