My Granddaughter(who is 12 yrs. old) is Autistic, but, also has been diagnosed with Williams Syndrome,
Is anyone aware of any Summer Camps, or activities for Children with Williams Syndrome, and Autism, in the New Hampshire area ?
I don't know what part of New Hampshire you live in but in Temple there is a farm (Touchstone Farm) that specializes in therapeutic riding. Jazzy is 10 and does very well there.
Touchstone Farm has a camp the last week of August for children with mental disabilities. Jazzy will be going that week. They are great. Jazzy has been taking horseback riding lessons there for a couple of years and loves it. Their staff is trained to work with all types of disabilities and are very caring and understanding.
Thank you to all for your input.
You're going to have to forgive me if this a really ignorant question but I didn't think autism could be comorbid with Williams Syndrome. Aren't they sort of opposites?
How do I explain moderate autism behaviors that my youngest son has to my other son with Asperger's and emotional disabilities??
Why is it that neurotypicals tend to get all their advice about autism from other neurotypicals rather than from autistics?
