If you could assign an animal representation to children with autism, which one would it be?

Is there a particular animal that children with autism relate to the most? I am doing a creative project for a class and would appreciate your input. Thanks!

Members shared a wide variety of animals their autistic children connect with, ranging from dogs, reptiles, whales, sharks, dolphins, butterflies, monkeys, fish, mermaids, birds, and cats, illustrating how every child on the spectrum is beautifully different. Several members drew comparisons between autism and cats, noting shared traits like independence, affection on their own terms, and marching to the beat of their own drum, while one member humorously suggested dolphins for their unique communication style and higher consciousness. A recurring theme was the deep, personal bonds children form with specific animals, whether through therapy pets, favorite movies, or creative self-identifications like one child calling himself Baby Snail and seeking comfort in his perfect shell.

When I saw that book "All Cats Have Asperger's" at the library, I had to laugh because it's SOOOO true! Very independent, persnickety, can be very sweet and affectionate but only on *THEIR* terms, not terribly cooperative, etc.

My son falls himself a Baby Snail. He likes to get hugged by the sofa cushions of a chair in our room and that is his "perfect shell".

Wow, so many different identifications. This is helpful alone in that it shows how every child on the spectrum is different. @A MyAutismTeam Member - bet I'm older than you! Haha. When did Lion King come out? I think I was already old. I was thinking dolphin because of the way they communicate so well, despite bot having language, and for their higher order of consciousness, like our kids.

You guys need to see this video, it's HILARIOUS (nothing to do with ASD): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GbycvPwr1Wg&amp...
I would compare ADHD (like me) to dogs and ASD to cats, yeah?
