How Should Our Family Prepare For An MRI On An Autistic Teen Who Has Severe Meltdowns And Does Not Do Well With Change?
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

Recently we got some good doctors to look into the overall health of twin girls 14 yrs old with autism. They are my granddaughters and since getting some of these new doctors, different things have been suggested. I wanted to know if there are any parents out there who had children who have autism, severe meltdowns and at some point needed surgery and what if anything did you do to prepare for the procedure?

Suggest a mild sedative before procedure. I have an 11 yr old autistic boy who does not like change, and who has meltdowns daily this method works for his tests.
