For us...He was holding his stool because he was afraid of the toilet. I got an ABA Therapists and a Special Education Teacher to help me.

@A MyAutismTeam Member What helped was not stressing. I took books for him to read on the toilet. Books were made with him as the main character pooping and peeing on potty. I gave him something to hold/ play with such as play dough or Legos. I was kinda grossed out at first. The whole bringing extra into the bathroom creeped me out. But as soon as he was potty trained we gradually started taking away items. It wasn't important. Reward system worked. Stickers that smell and have funny faces was his reward. Lastly we did first then system. First you poop then we ____. I stayed positive and consistent.
