How do u know if your child needs ABA?

It’s usually the recommendation of the Dr who diagnosed. If it’s something you’re considering then you’d have an evaluation done just like with other services like speech and OT

Does Anyone Know Where We Can Obtain Funding For Developing A Program For Young ASD Adults (age 21+) ?
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

My daughter and 2 of her classmates will soon "age-out" of our state's education program for special needs children. They have "behaviors" that will prevent them from obtaining and keeping a job. There are also no affordable facilities or programs for young adults in our area. As a group we would like to develop a program similar to the one they have at school but lack the funds. I've researched online but was only shown sites to obtain funding for chartering a school which is not what we… read more

"autism Friendly" Salons In The Boston MA Area
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

Good morning

My son Diego is 5 and diagnosed with autism. Due to his sensory sensitivity (around his ears and neck) we have a hard time getting him to get a haircut. His last one was in November and very traumatic for him. I have goggled barbershop/salons that are good with autistic kids and have had no luck so far. We took him last summer to snip it’s (Peabody, MA) and it also didn’t go well. The lady wasn’t listening to us and didn’t know how to deal with kids with special needs. I was… read more

My 5 year old son often asks me, "Is this a dream?". Do I need to be concerned about this? Is he not understanding reality vs. Fantasy? Could this be a sleep issue? Anyone else have this issue?

We have tried bribes(toys, candy, videos)panties, pullups, setting her potty chair in the living room, taking her every hour, but nothing seems to work. she doesn't seem to care that she's wet and she will wait and go in her diaper. Any sugestions?
