My grandson puts himself to sleep by pulling on a sock with his mouth to start to untangle it until all of the threds are pulled out. What can I do to change this behavior.
Also, my 13-year-old grandson is home schooled and has no friends other than family and his puppy. Is there any kind of social activities he and others can attend? Are there any churches who may have Youth Meetings where kids can meet and greet, maybe dance and sing or play card and board games>
I let Stephen tear up old magazines.
There's always a 'event' that leads up to this, and lately it's been going to His mom's.
Figure out the Why/Trigger.
Applying for disability
I unfortunately passed my window of opportunity to appeal and try again, I feel like I might not have done it properly. Thanks for sharing your story and good luck to you and your family as well.
Looking for other parents in my area to connect with !
My 10-year-old son has PDA. He has been struggling with sleep, having mild panic attacks, and is generally very anxious. A psychiatrist recently recommended we start an SSRI, and potentially an Alpha-agonist (he is very emotionally reactive).
Does anyone have experiences with either of these types of medications?
Thanks,
Jeni
Am I still qualified to be my autistic child's in home provider through IHSS (In Home Supportive Services), if I am on disability (SSDI), for having anxiety disorder and being on medication prescribed by my psychiatrist for anxiety to me for over ten years, as long as I can successfully provide for my child's needs without my anxiety causing any disruptions or limitations in doing so?

They just keep wanting to ship him off to residential. He issues with all of the changes we had during the pandemic and immediately after between schools and being forced to move by the old landlord because she was not a nice person. Lol she bought my apartment house and wanted us out so she could renovate and raise the rent. He had lived there… read more
