My son has Autism & I think he might have ADHD/ADD. I guess I am wondering if I should try to put him on medicine. He is already on a medication for his anxiety. I just don't know if the ADHD medicaionor ADD medication will make the Autism better or worse. Any suggestions.

My son has been on Daytrana patch since February. He currently is at 20 mg. I feel like it is not working at all. He is more irritable, aggressive and impulsive. He cannot swallow pills due to sensory issues. We previously tried Focalin XR (he kept chewing the beads) and Vyvanse (increased tics). I was wondering about Methylin as it comes in a liquid or chewable or Dextroamphetamine which also comes in a liquid. Anyone have any experience with these???? Thanks!

So as some of you know my youngest was recently diagnosed with autism not too long ago. Now after a phone iep meeting my oldest(neurotypical) special education teacher has brought up some concers that she may have add or adhd and suggested i talk to her pediatrician. I have an appointment set up for her. Does anyone else have children that are on the spectrum and have a sibling with add or adhd?

My son is on an ADHD med, Vyvanse. Does anyone have experience using mood stabilizing medication with their children along with Vyvanse or other ADHD meds? How about the addition of blood pressure medication that has been seen to stabilize moodiness caused by ADHD meds?
