Has anyone done Genetic testing? Did it show anything? My pediatrician brought it up today...
We did the genome testing as well. Nothing showed up. My geneticist sees us every year. He says my son has something, but they haven't figured out the test for it yet apparently. So we just wait… read more
When I was around eight years old, I began to have anger issues. I had outbursts, would call people names, and would even hit others. It came to a head when I slapped my grandmother in front of my family. My mother took me to a therapist and after three or so months I was much better. She didn't conclude I was Autistic for some reason, but that's a whole other story.
My son avoids conflict. He only hits himself if he's stressed out & overwhelmed. He's never had any angry outbursts or anything like that. I try to keep a very positive, calm & relaxing environment… read more
Abilify really helped my son with this issue
if my son is playing a game on the copmuter or ps2 and he loses he has a complete meltdown, and i try to calm himm down but talking to him only makes him madder and holding him makes it worse so then my dad(who doesnt understand autism) comes to the bedroom(which has no door on it for me to be able to shut, and tells me to just spank his behind. But I dont want to teach him to hit or slap any more than he does already, anyone got advice, i sure could use it
Just let it run it's course and try to "ignore" it, making sure he can't hurt himself by matter-of-factly removing objects that could cause him harm.
Has anyone ever heard of Angel Sense? If u have have u tried it? My son will be starting classes in September with BCIU/early intervention and im worried how he will do and how teachers will treat him. It has a tracker if ur kid goes missing and u can even listen in on conversation wherever they are. It snaps to clothing or backpack. Wanted to know if its worth getting for the price and is it really reliable. Its rated 5 star's. Let me know what u guys think.
You could look into Apples Air Tags. They are really just for gps, and don’t have video or audio capabilities, but you can hang or place them almost anywhere. If your child has a tendency to take off… read more
My son loves to take things apart, or break things (that most of the time can’t be fixed). I know he doesn’t do it out of anger 9 times out of 10, but I just don’t know what’s going on in his head.
Trust me, I really am very encouraging and loving with him. If it looks in any way like it can be taken apart, he will. I agree it’s most likely a sensory thing, I just wish I could get him to… read more

I have tried Latuda. My son is 19. He was extremely aggressive, hitting himself and others. It’s been two weeks and he’s starting to calm down. However I’m noticing more OCD and anxiety now.
I agree with another commenter here that you shouldn’t worry about what other parents or caregivers say. You are the most important, and knowledgeable person on your own child’s needs. I have a 5 year… read more

I am not sure if you have tried or implemented the 5 point scale, but it maybe beneficial for your son. The 5 point scale shows images of how an individual is feeling and what are appropriate… read more
