I have a question for parents who have or had a high functioning, fully verbal autistic preschooler. My little boy has been in ABA since March and has made amazing gains, so much so that there are days I feel he doesn't even fit his diagnosis anymore, or that he could lose it at some point. So much joint attention and interaction with us, his family, so much affection, eye contact, you name it. He has no behavior issues, and no sensory issues. He tested at 4 yrs old in receptive and expressive… read more
It wasn't as early as I would have liked it to be. He wasn't diagnosed until he was 5 1/2.
I was diagnosed with Autism shortly after he was. I felt that he was perfectly normal - and had sleep… read more

My wife wants have Nerotherapy sessions for my son who is 7 to help him with communication behavior ect. It is not covered by insurance. I think medication would be better. Has anyone used Nerotherapy before and if so how was your experience with it? Thank You
Don’t do it if you child has any signs of disassociation
Hello, I'm new to this board, so hopefully I'm doing this right...my son was diagnosed with ASD, and we live in Houston, Texas. Any programs that are through the government and have grants available, have ridiculously long waits, like over a year. I was wondering if anyone was aware of any other options out there. TIA!!
I live in Dallas. We thought our insurance wouldn't cover ABA as well and it was usually because the provider was out of network. The ABA place we first went to figured out some codes after we had… read more
Does anyone know what level of service Kaiser California considers ABA? Would it be a standard copay or a specialist copay.
Your ABA provider is supposed to collect your standard co-pay if they are contracted with Kaiser
I got mine through a grant. The granting agency, only services people within 100 miles of Saratoga, NY. BUt if you type in "ipad grants for autism" there are a bunch out there.
As a parent who will soon have a working young adult child starting soon and I don't want him to lose his SSI if any of you parents or anyone who understands that my question is for example like do you work two days or just the weekend from what-to-what hours. I definitely continue with his therapy.
Hello, you really have a lot going on. I never heard of special needs trust. I have a trust fund to leave with my son but my daughter be over it so the SSI can’t mess with his check. Yes those tea cup… read more
