After 13 months of searching for a job out-of-state with an autism insurance mandate or has ABA therapy through Obamacare, we are moving to Texas. Can we get some form of insurance to cover ABA. I don't know if my employer has small or large group full coverage or if they are self-insured so I assuming self insured as a worst case situation.
Please don't answer if you haven't lived in Texas since they changed the law covering insurance in 2013 because it's not timely for me.
Now, I'm more confused based on what read. I figured I could at least buy insurance from the Obamacare marketplace. Hasn't anyone in Texas tried this?

I'm very concerned about my son's therapies (ABA, speech and occupational) because here they are affordable, but in the U.S., from what I've heard, full-time therapy is almost unpayable if you don't have insurance. Ok, if I get the job I'll have insurance, too. BUT will they cover a preexisting condition such as my son's autism? Have any of you experienced changing insurance companies and fall into the… read more
