Hello all, I wanted to know how the stools of kids with ASD are? Is harder stools constipation or any intolerances? Is there any over the counter probiotics good to use? I heard autism is related to GIT, is it true?

Hi friends, can you share experiences of GFCF diet on your kids ? Does it improve speech?

My 16 yo is HFA and is on Zoloft mainly for anxiety. When it comes to eating, he does like meats and salads. But he is funny about textures and smells and this seems to affect his diet. Before starting Zoloft he seemed to have a better appetite. Can anyone explain why? Also, besides dyes, what other foods can trigger negative behavior and what is in them that’s causing it?

Hi, i am trying to potty train my 3 year old daughter who is having ASD with speech delay , whole day she is without diaper and i am taking her to restroom 4 -5 times a day where she is doing all the steps and coming out . But she is not doing her job in the potty. She is waiting for me to put her diaper and only then she is relieving herself. my HS senior has asbergers and bipolar. We just had his transition IEP meeting this week and the question came up about this "label" would offer him more supportive services during the transition period between HS and age 22 as well as at age 22 when he is moving on to the next phase of life. I have a question...do any of your little ones use weighted vests and if so did yall find a place to try them on and see what they liked or what fit. My little girl has had the worst weekend in a long time which is probably associated to being sick friday and her routine being interupted but her meltdowns were worse than normal and I am thinkin gthat I am ready to try the vests but wanted some info. I recently had to decrease my hours at work in order to get my daughter to therapy once a week for speech and PT. We are looking into starting ABA therapy but it can require quite a bit of time a week. How is this managed when both parents work?

i am lightly thinking of moving to CA or OR. My biggest concern is finding care for my severly autistic daughter. she currently has Speach, OT and MUSIC therapy as well as a great developmental pediatric DR.Oh and respit and habilitation are much needed too. We would also need a homeschool or internet school option because she just cant handle the school yet. any thoughts on services?

Recently we were loaned an IPad to assist my daughter with speech and motor skills. She has really fallen in love with and and we've seen some really great improvements. Have any of you used an IPad? What Apps were successful for your family? Finally, I've heard of possible grants that are available in order to get an IPad. Did anyone have success with applying for a grant?
