Co-sleeping Yay Or Nay
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have had my two children (6&4) sleeping with me for the last 6 months or so exclusively. Before that, my daughter with sleep issues would get up between 10pm and 3am every night and crawl in bed, or wake up no later than 4am daily, or both. For me it's less disruptive to my sleep to just have my kids in here, although privacy (didn't have much to begin with) goes out the window for the most part. So, I gave up. The benefits outweigh the drawbacks right now. Others in my household don't agree… read more

Natural Supplements To Deal With Uncontrollable Laughter
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi everyone

This is is my first time posting.
I hope everyone is doing well.
Has anyone ever dealt with uncontrollable laughter.

I have recently been struggling to get my son to stop this behavior.
He Only calms down when is on clonidine. When the medication wears off he can go on and on.

Does anyone know of any natural medication, or supplements that can help keep him calm when is not on clonidine.?
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Trying To Get My Son To Start Sleeping Alone.
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

Good Evening Everyone. So My son has a bonding thing when sleeping. He can not sleep alone. He is now 13 years old & STILL refuses to sleep alone. Before I would lay with him until he dozed off then go to my bed when he's asleep. As he is getting older I would then sit on the edge of the bed until he goes to sleep. Today as I type this I wanted to try a different method now that he is officially a teenager. I am sitting on a chair outside his room until he dozes off but he is tossing & turning &amp… read more

My 6 Year Old Woke Up Crying Uncontrollably And Nothing Calmed Her Down. Anyone Experiencing This?
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

She tends to do okay once she’s asleep. Sometimes she wakes up in the middle of the night but she’s alert. She woke up today at 5am after sleeping since 9:30 last night. She was crying and throwing herself on her bed. It was like when she had a meltdown. I don’t believe she was in pain. She kept giving me the tv remote but she wasn’t happy with anything I put on the tv. Water always calms her down so we got her in the shower and after 20 minutes of playing with bubbles she calmed down and got… read more

Any Advice On How To Help My Grandson With Staying Asleep Please. His Poor Parents Are Desperate. 5yrs And Barely A Full Nights Sleep
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

He’s 5 yrs old, formally diagnosed last year, talks but not clearly and has just started school. He goes to sleep well then after a few hrs he’s wide awake, just walking around and chatting in his own way. They are so tired, I’m afraid it may affect their marriage and this little boy (& his elder sister) needs both his parents together. Any suggestions please, they’ve tried many things including melatonin but it doesn’t seem to keep him asleep for any reasonable amount of time. Both parents work… read more
