My 4yr old son internalized his feelings. He stops talking, making eye contact, and loses control. It builds up in him for weeks until he explodes on little requests like brushing his teeth or eating dinner. My daughter is 9 years old, and has PDD/NOS. She has done biofeedback for about 9 months now, and it has really helped her social skills. I am concerned, though, because she has had a few meltdowns recently that have left me reeling. I am wondering if any other parent has had members in there family diagnosed with POTS - disorder and Autism within the family ?

I have a mom in my neighborhood who has a child with Autism who is a year or two older than my boy. She has a hard time not blaming herself. She beats herself up every day about it, thinking it's her fault. Other than social media sites (like this one) what are some thought/quotes/words of wisdom I can share with her to help her find comfort?

Has anyone tried ABA therapy for severe aggression? Some of it I agree with but than there are some components of it I don't agree with. I understand the objective is to extinguish the negative behaviors such as hitting, scratching and throwing objects when frustrated. My son constantly chews on his clothes and blankets it is so bad he has gone threw two winter coats this year. I have two younger children that I hope to pass his clothes on to but at the rate he's chewing threw shirts and tops I won't have any.
