Anyone Have Littles Who Put Everything In Their Mouth?
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

I'm wondering if my child constantly needing oral stimulation can be related to her ASD? I didn't get a straight answer when I asked the doctor about it. Not sure if it's Pica since it's not necessarily dirt, paint chips, drywall, etc. it's more like paper, cardboard, plastic, hair, etc. She's constantly chewing on anything and everything and sometimes consumes these things.

Best to do it when they are young. Helps with ingraining it in their social behavior(s) early.
It works for a while, but then you have to increase the dosage every time you see them regressing.

Pulling Down Pants
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

Does anyone have issues with their child wanting to pull down their pants in front of others? My son knows this is wrong but he talks about doing it and has done it a couple of times and thinks it's very funny. He also talks about private parts. He's soon 11 and I don't want him to feel guilty or bad about his body but I don't want him to get in trouble of course. I wonder if he just loves the attention he gets from us. We can't just ignore something like this so he gets our attention for sure… read more
