I am interested in signing up my daughter for swimming lessons. She loves the water and I notice that she tries to float on her own, but I am not sure If she is capable of succeeding in that due to her lack of listening skills. Is there any other mothers out there that has a child with autism and has them in swimming lessons?

My son is 8. He is diagnosed with autism and anxiety disorder. He’s not really taken many meds before. But his pediatrician put him on intuniv to calm him down because he’s contstanly into trouble at school to the point DCS is involved with his behavior now. From parents or single parents with a child that has autism. And knows what it's like, or is going threw the same thing The only groups I can find are for single mothers with kids with autism. I can't be the only dad and a 100% caregiver and provider.

This is becoming problematic over here because he will strip the moment my back is turned or attention diverted. It's not necessarily a clothing texture thing. He doesnt have an issue wearing clothes to go out of the house and doesnt show a strong aversion to anything except a senory vest.
