Potty training ugh!
They aren't ready until they're ready. This is true for those without autism, too. But at least neurologically typical toddlers can be shamed into conforming. Autism by definition has no shame, or… read more
My son is 7 not potty trained yet. Me and my wife live in California. A treacher suggested we send my son to a place out of state in Virginia to help him more. This would just crush me. I think I would try medication and other therapy here before I even attempted that. What is everyone's opinion on what to do? Son says only a handful of words. Thanks all in advance.
I would definitely start therapies as soon as possible. Have you been working with your local board of developmental disabilities? It may be called something different in Cali. They are a great… read more

My son used to eat almost everything. But now there is a new item that he just doesn't want to eat. I am runing out of ideas ( also patience, is very frustrating because he is starting to lose weight).
Any advise?😔
Thank you for the tip
PS he was the best baby ever though.
My son wants to throw things away. I have no idea why he wants to do this. But he wants to throw things away so badly that he actually will rip up items so he "justify" throwing them away. He throws away books, clothes, food, etc. It happens every day, throughout the day, and multiple times per day.
He's 18 so I can't physically stop him. I am able to delay him. He also gets sneaky about it to the extent of getting up during the night to throw things away.
Ideas anyone?
Did you ever find a solution to this? Currently dealing with the exact same behavior.
My son several weeks ago started to independently go to the potty. After over a year of training and breaking down the steps, you name it, it was amazing to see this.
He was increasing these independent runs to the potty and we were so beyond excited. And then this past ~two weeks, he is regressed and now not even bothering going to the potty, just going on the floor 😠This doesn’t happen in therapy sessions, because they have a plan to ask him if he wants to go or take him to the potty… read more
