My son loves to take things apart, or break things (that most of the time can’t be fixed). I know he doesn’t do it out of anger 9 times out of 10, but I just don’t know what’s going on in his head.
Trust me, I really am very encouraging and loving with him. If it looks in any way like it can be taken apart, he will. I agree it’s most likely a sensory thing, I just wish I could get him to… read more
My daughter has been dignosed with aspesgers and autism. Shes about to be 6. And my 4 year old has some of the same symtoms but shes worse when it comes to melt downs. Our 16 year old high functioning son still won’t learn to tie laces
Hi Guys we relocated to Idaho and love it. But in about 4 yrs we are thinking about moving to Seattle. What are the best school districts and DDAs services?
Having some time to talk with parents who have done this for a while, almost all recommend Bellevue over Lake Washington
Hi everyone. My son has ASD and is turning 3 in a few days. He is also non verbal. He has been in an early intervention preschool for 6 months. For whatever reason, after never having done this before, he is scratching other classmates.
I have watched him do it to see if there was a trigger but I can’t figure it out. It’s almost like he knows he can do it. I have realized he is noticing peers for the first time and looks like he is reaching out to them but then quickly grabs them to scratch.

Do they help ground them ,and make social outings easier for them to handle?

I have a question, if you had a wish to have and could have in your neighborhood.... A kind of daycare for special needs children (autism) what type of things would you like to have or see incorporated into the center, other then 24hr care and reliable awesome workers? Ex...structured play, social outings?
What was already stated. And of course, qualified caregivers.
So, my Sweet Lily has been running through the house naked, every day, for the past two years. Just today, she decided to venture out into the garden, stark naked. Anyone else have a problem with their ASD littles stripping their clothes off at/in inappropriate places? Does it ever stop? Will I ever see the day when my child can successfully wear a complete outfit for longer than a trip to the local dollar shop?
My 30 yr old bro ALYAS naked in the home. ❤️😂
We live in the Houston area. Currently looking for a social group or program where my 10 year can make friends and learn to be around others like himself. I have found a few but very expensive. Is there other parents in the area interested in setting up maybe a play date or group?
I would. Cain is a big 7. Starting to notice that he's not like everyone else. He says he wants a friend
