my son swears a lot when angry

Hello, I am in need of some advice on how to handle my 7.5 year old son, who likes to drop the "F" bomb at school and his after school care program when he get's really upset. I have tried taking away toys, restrictions, talking and nothing seems to be getting through to him.

His after school care provider told me today that if he can't stop she is going to have to suspend him as it is effecting the other neuro-typical kids.

Any ideas/suggestions would… read more

I'm trying to find help for my 43 year old son who I believe is undiagnosed Asperger's.

I don't have money for a psychiatrist and I've been looking for other kinds of help in my area (Naples/Ft. Myers, FL) but I keep running into dead ends. There are no active support groups in my area that I can find. I'm running out of options and it's very frustrating.

blowing nose?

What creative or zany ways can you use to teach a 4yo non verbal, non mimicking, little boy to blow his nose, or to pick his nose even? he has crying fits for up to twenty minutes to relieve the tension in his throat and sinuses just to get the boogers out. He refuses and fights against saline and aspirators.

Desperate for answers! My son's behavior is out of control at school. Help please!

My 10-year old, non verbal son has moderate to severe autism. In the past two weeks he suddenly started hitting his teachers, sometimes slapping, urinating on the floor several times a day, ripping down bulletin boards, walking on desks, throwing desks and chairs. They've tried ignoring - it gets worse. They've tried giving more positive reinforcement - it gets worse. They've given him breaks to escape - it… read more

My son is being "unsafe" at school. Any suggestions?

My son is being "unsafe" at school by climbing on the desks, falling into the floor, taking his shoes off, and rolling down the hallway in between classes, and being more aggressive towards his teachers. I have to leave work every time to go and get him because his teachers can not handle him and I have only been at my job full-time for 5 months. Any suggestion on resolving this issue???!
