has anyone had experience with a Lawyer to get their child into the correct school setting?

My son's school is closing. He is 2 years behind grade level in a regular education class. We want him in a smaller class. The school he is moving to says we should keep him in public school for socialization. The class size will be increasing because his school is merging with another one. We need a lawyer to help us. I am knowledgeable enough in this field to know I need help.

Has anyone's child had an MRI?

It's been recommended by our developmental psychologist that we have an MRI done on our 3 year old son. I don't know what to expect with the physical procedure. Has anyone had one done and found something abnormal?
Thanks!

Does anyone have issues with high functioning teens and text messaging?

I have a 17 year old high functioning son who is constantly deleting some of his text messages on his phone when he knows he is not allowed to. Many of his texts have been inappropriate. My sister and I spent a lot of time last night comparing the texts on his phone with the texts on the online cell phone web site and many of the texts were deleted off his phone (even ones sent and received by me). I would like to know if this is… read more

How old was your Asperger son when he started to talk?

My son is an Aspie, 3 years and 1 month. Very hard to understand. He has been known to make 3 words sentences but it's rare. He prefers to use simple words, such as: bye bye mommy door, which means: leave my bedroom mommy and close the door behind you :-)

How old were your Aspie boys when they became fully verbal?

Has anyone seen excessive thirst in their child as a symptom of ASD?

Someone suggested to me that it's a sensory thing - that children with ASD can experience excessive thirst - or just wanting to drink all the time. I've wondered about that with me son - who will down glass after glass of water all day if you let him, and I haven't been sure if that's him just being a normal toddler or if that could be a symptom. Anyone have any insight to share?
