Hello - Any updates/ successes / no results from anyone on this therapy?
Mine still has issues relating to loud sounds but will not wear headphones. Some sounds, once explained, she has no problems with and will just ask "what's that sound?" but others such as her baby sister crying really bothers her.
OT! The one I had in Iowa was very open to introducing new sensory experiences in a controlled environment to get my son used to a new sound or texture or food. In Missouri, I have found that the… read more
Does anyone have a tablet or hand held device they recommend for a toddler? My daughter is not talking yet and she loves computer and phone games. My thought is to get her something for her birthday on 2/13 when she turns 2. I've looked at the leappad and cubby but not sure about any of this. Any suggestions or what works for other parents?
and when you get a chance, use ABC Mouse.com for your daughter to enjoy on the computer.
Does anyone in the Nashville area have recommendations for my HFA daughter entering high school in the Fall? Is there a particular high school where we should be in the district? Or any other local resources we should know about for older ASD kids? Thanks!
@A MyAutismTeam Member , the project type learning has been fantastic for our daughter. She just finished her freshman year, has all a's and b's and is having a sleepover party tonight!
What essential oils have you used with a 2yr child with autism & allergies? What was the effectiveness?
I didn't know that the EO Desk Ref and Aromatherapy for Healthy Children existed. Will order it right away.
Thanks for all of your ideas. My next EO order will be robust.
Hi,
I'm looking for an eye doctor in the Houston area to give me a second opinion on his prescription. Currently we go to U of H to have his eyes checked, and they do a great job, but I'd like to make sure it's the correct prescription since my son is not able to tell me. I'm willing to travel to Austin or San Antonio as well. I'm having a hard time finding an eye doctor willing to see an autistic child.
Thanks for your help!!
