My son was not diagnosed with ASD until he was 11, he is now almost 13. Prior to that he was diagnosed with ADHD and ODD. After a reevaluation this summer it was determined he has Asperger's and ADHD. He has always had difficulty with aggression, but some of the more obvious ASD behaviors have increased since starting puberty. (More perseveration, vocal stimming, tantrums, threats, entering others personal space). The school has refused to acknowledge that his behaviors are due to Autism… read more

My 5y/o who was diagnosed with autism at age 3 has really bad aggression problems. Her behavior in every aspect is basically horrible. She hits and bites and is really awful to her sister. When I punish her: put her in time out, take away her special toy, make her play alone, have a talk with her about the problem, let sissy do something special without older sister... She just laughs at me then screams like I broke her leg or something. Nothing… read more

Thank you.
We have her home on the weekends and extra days on holidays, other than that she lives at a home minutes away from the school. The homes are run by the school

It means their problems aren't very severe. They can usually grow up to take care of themselves and marry etc. They may have quirks.. like social issues or quiet or smart etc.
My daughter apparently does not have a physical disability based on their criteria of a "physical disability". My child is on a spectrum that sure involves some limitations that affect her physically .
