Has Anyone Had Success With Reducing Aggression?
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

My son is 9 and basically non verbal. He has had a problem with aggression, but the last year or so it has gotten really bad. We have him on medication, and we try behavioral strategies such as token rewards system. We are also currently doing horse therapy. He was suspended 3 times last year and has been moved to a new school. I am afraid of the same thing happening this year. Help!

Have you tried eye Q? Our developmental pediatrician highly recommended it. Apparently, it was first designed to help with eye sight but was found to also help with brain function and aggression. We have just started using it this week.

Our nephew had a similar situation and was finally taken out of school and home-schooled with a special private tutor for several years until he was able to finally enter middle school at a special school for kids with ASD. The combination of getting his meds right, therapy, taking time out from a typical classroom experience, private tutoring and then reintroducing him into a special school seems to have worked wonders. Sometimes I wonder if all the inappropriate behavior comes from the stress and anxiety of feeling unwanted, unfriended and unable to cope around other neurotyical children. It's more than their little psyches can deal with.

Neurotherapy was huge. Having a consistent ABA program also helped build frustration tolerance.
