As It Relates To Elementary School: How Often Would A Child Have To Be Reevaluated?
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

I received communication that my son was due for an RR. (reevaluation) Which I guess would help with the I.E.P. process if new information needed to be added, so a plan could develop based on his needs.

In Texas your child should have an ARD every year to update his or her IEP. Every 3 years there is a full reevaluation to determine if the child still qualifies for SPED.

Every 3 years the team (IEP team - which must be gen ed teacher, sped. teacher., administrator, and parents at least but can involve others if child receives speech or OT) must meet to determine if additional testing should be done. Services can be continued without testing but that must be decided as a team. If additional testing is needed it must be agreed upon as a team not just one member. You can meet more often if needed but testing can not be done any closer than a year apart.
