Are There Any Programs Out There To Help A Low Income Family Get A Car?

I want to know if there are any Programs out there that can help me to get a car. i was using my dad's Van for a long time, it finally quit. Our autism Spec is in Columbus,oh.......THREE HOURS AWAY! Im not sure what to do. and were going at least 3-4 times a month. i have NO income comming in and im not sure what else to do.

Also check with Goodwill. My son's job coach from Goodwill said they sometimes provide cars to low income families.

If your child has medicaid,or Medi-Cal in CA. Check with your local office to see what is offered for people in your situation. I do believe there is help for those children to get to their therapies in a state van. Call your local medicaid office and ask. Also try the local Shriners clubs. They may know someone who can help too.

There should be a CARES organization in your community. Contact your local rotary club and then look up (name of your town) CARES on the internet to find a local charity. I would buy you a car myself but we are close to being in the same boat but the van hasn't died yet! :)

I Called medicaid they had said that due to "funding cut-backs" they no longer do transport. i live in a VERY small town so im limited on what i can get. its horrible.
