My daughter is 8, she's been dry during the day for 5 years. She has maybe had 10 dry nights ever. I've tried restricting fluids, a chiropractor, pleading...I'd welcome someone's miracle cure.
My son is 9 and is still wearing a pull up to bed. I wish there was a miracle cure, but short of waking them up every couple of hours Im clueless. I was told just to give it time. He seems to be improving though, so thats good.
Pee pee alert in pants. It is an alarm that goes on when child start to pee in pants at night (close circuit). Apparently the child that used it went off at 2 am every night and it was so loud that the father did not allow this method.
I know another child where the pediatrician recommended the child to be waken up at 11pm every night and they got successful.
We personally did not go through this issue. It is amusing how many of us facing the daily challenges on top of not speaking, hearing, learning, screaming, crying and on top if it the 1000th problem that they night wet, or retain pee, constipated or have diarrhea.
I had to give stool softeners and since my son did not feel it due to the medicine I ended up washing the carpet every time. Today I have a diary on top of the toilet. Timing has changed an improved our life but it was 2 years.
Rick classmate also wets the bed every night. His mum is just 25 years old. I am in tears when I think about what this young woman goes through to wash bed sheets every day 365 days a year. I am sure that a good pediatrician will have plenty of help for you.
There's this mat you can buy on the intranet that will wake her up if it detects moisture. I didn't need to use it but I've heard good things about it.
Teach them how to wash everything. Learning something new was captivating enough, but the added responsibility of being the sole difference between sleeping on a clean dry vs, wet smelly bed was a strong motivator to have a dry night.
