Any Parents Have A Pre-teen Early Teen Daughter Having Hygiene Issues?

I have always had to shampoo her hair & help with basic hygiene. She struggles to shower & to brush her hair. The prob. I am having is with her period, propper care & cleaning, Learning when to change when she is @ school. Suggestions??

My 16 year old is the same way she kept very poor hygiene unless reminded, but her dad and I decided to have her get the Depo shot for that but also because she is so gullible and Nieve we were scared she would be taken advantage of by a boy and get pregnant

You might want to talk to her physician about putting her on continuous birth control to suppress her period. A friend of mine was on it to treat the symptoms of endometriosis. She just took only the active pills with no breaks in between one pack and the next.

Can it be put in her IEP some how (& would that make follow through more likely)?

The prob is @ school, The mentor (teachers aid) is supposed to help her but seems to be lacking in this area. Although this would be helpful I don't see it working in the school setting
