We would like to have our daughters scanned (MRI?) just to make sure we are not overlooking something evident, through such methods. They are turning 4 this month. They seem to be in the spectrum but not confirmed yet. How do I find the best pediatrician neurologist in the US for these studies? We already tried the related ranking websites but haven't convinced us.
It's not clear what you are asking. Any competent developmental pediatrician can examine your daughters, ask you questions that address your specific concerns, and then order tests that are designed to diagnose or rule-out other problems. There is no such thing as a general scan that will pinpoint the cause of a potential problem if there is no underlying index of suspicion.
If you want a diagnosis Dr Gargus at Siskan in Chattanooga Tn is Awesome she is a Developmental Behavioral Pediatrition and people from all over the country travel to see her
I think a MRI is as a diagnostic tool when other answers are not available (as it is very expensive and is not useful in making a diagnosis in most cases). Our pediatrician recommended us to a psychologist that was able to make the diagnosis.
Boston Children's Hospital is supposed to have an excellent neurology department as does Cleveland Clinic.
Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis is supposed to be one of the best in the nation.
