Replacement For Going To Restroom When Bored?
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

My daughter who is 17 with autism, is always asking to go to the bathroom when out or when she is bored. No medical issue . Any ideas for a replacement behavior?

Start working on leisure skills with her so she has more things to do during her free time.

My 12 year old with autism does the same thing. If you find a good replacement let me know as well. Are you in NKCSD?

It's probably a sensory thing where she just wants to escape and she feels the bathroom is generally safe.

thanks for the things to think about. She is doing this in public and at school . Sometimes I think she just wants to see the bathroom I just say no you can go later but she does this more with my husband and at school.
