Tenex And Sleep
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

Has anyone child ever taken Tenex and affect their sleep? Wesley has been taking it for about a month and never sleeps. Melatonin doesn't work anymore. Since he woke up Thursday, he has six hours of sleep. Suggestions?

Yes...it also makes my son very irritable and I thinking about asking his Dr. to take him off it...increased his stemming behaviors too! He has been on it for about 2 years now...as for sleep no problems because he is on the extended release clonodine (Kapvay tablet)- keeps him calm and asleep through the night.

My child took trazadone, 50 MG for years. We took him off recently because once reaching adolescence he has been having problem with erections, which is a side effect, although usually at much higher doses. Before that worked very well for him with no side effects.

different meds do work differently my son tried tenex and it made him tired and therefor aggressive..:( perhaps it is making your boy tired and then overtired? Are you seeing any positive changes from the tenex during the day? After a month I would think you should know whether the benefits outweigh the side effects, something to talk about with your doctor. Or perhaps he is less active during the day and so isn't as tired?
