I use the hours/pay for "attendants" through the EDCD (elderly and disabled with consumer direction waiver) through Medicaid to pay for my son's tutoring. I just do full consumer direction (so I am posting ads and hiring and firing) and then I use care.com to post special need tutoring jobs. S

Thank u. I wish i knew how much tutoring does ASD can handle. I am not sure if I should do 2 hours a week or 3. On top of this he is asking to try out for Sports team which is a first for me. He wants to try flag football , swimming And baseball. I do want to be to much for him. Maybe start once a week with tutoring for a month or two And than increase twice a week for tutoring.

You would need to talk to the ADULT services social worker at your local dept. social services.
Also if you school is a title one school they are required to provide tutoring for any child who is not passing.
It would be difficult to get afterschool tutoring on his IEP, but what you want instead is an appropriate IEP. If he is not learning grade level curriculum then you need to get very specific on the accomedations on his IEP maybe Direct Instruction (this is actually a scripted formal program) or Discrete Trial (if that is how he best learns) small group, individual 1:1check-ins..priming is a big one that is left off it means giving him the work or information BEFORE he has to use.do it in the larger class, primining can be done in a special ed classroom, small intervention group or send it home for you to work on with him as well.
Good luck
Also wrightslaw website might have some helpful advice on this topic.

Did you think about contacting a local college with a special education department? You may be able to get an undergrad to do it for free or less money.
