My son has a photographic memory and has a great imagination as well. He can memorize things he reads and can play out episodes of his favorite shows while playing.

We have had him go to art camp and he is in a local drama club. I forgot to mention he is eight. The instructors at the club have told us he is the most creative child they have and when they are working with him nothing can divert his attention when he is working he is so focused. They have told us he has a gift for it, and all the other children and more specifically the girls flock to him.

My son has no idea he is different from the other children and we have not said anything to him because we do not believe he needs to know right now. We specifically moved to a small town for this atmosphere and between his school teachers and programs he is flourishing. His friends are very loyal and look out for him as well.

I think it is very important to work on your child's strengths because it will make them better able to succeed in life. Obviously the weaknesses have to be addressed but that is only part of the plan
