Ear, Nose, And Throat Doctor In Bay Area, California For Chronic Ear Infections.
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

My 20 year old son has been suffering from chronic ea infections for the past year and a half. These ear infections seem to be stemming from allergies or other allergy related events. Our doctor is recommending we put tubes in his ears to help drain the fluid that is causing the ear infections. Is this a good idea? Also, does anyone know of a good of a doctor in the Bay Area that will work well with my autistic son?

My daughter had these issues but is. 7. She ended up having her tonsils and adenoids removed, as well as the tubes put in her ears, and has been fine since. She only has one tube left and the other fell out but no more issues.

I would also consult an allergist to see if something else is going on. My son has very bad allergies but has not needed the tubes just allergy meds.

I will bet you are chronically using antibiotics like amoxicillin. if this is true his body is fighting a constant infection, I would help his body by boosting the immune system- pro-biotics and acidophilus, get a multi-vit and vit D = C and B12 going. It will take time for his body to build up and fight. Do see the Allergist, and look into food allergies as well. the infections prolonged are a concern does he get high fevers?

I would see an allergist and see if you can address the underlying issues before having ear tubes that are mostly just going to manage the symptoms.
