We had the same result, also the problem with ability is you have to watch for physical systems like twitching and flutters because they can become permanent if you let them go to long.

You described my daughter to perfection. I started a long time ago (before AS diagnosis) asking her questions. Did you see that? Did you understand what they just said? What did that person do that was wrong? Did you get that joke? Do you know what this is? ...and so on. It engages her in conversation and teaches her too. I also explain things if I think she doesn't get it. I do it in a way that it doesn't look like I trying to teach her. She is highly gifted and doesn't like it when it looks like someone thinks she is stupid. So I'll say something like 'look at that man crossing the street in the middle of the street. That's really dangerous. He is supposed to cross at the crosswalk. I hope he doesn't get hurt of cause an accident'. I also answer most questions with question. If my daughter ask what the visor was then I'd ask her 'what do you think it does...can you guess'. Then I'd lead her to the answer for as long as I can keep her engaged. If she is loosing interest then I just answer it.

We role play a lot. For example, she has a 'boyfriend' (she is 16). He is being a jerk so she wants to break up (YA!). This weekend we will role play how to do that. We've role played how to tell an adult that your parents will freak out if you are left alone with a boy...so the kids have to go with the adult if they run an errand. We've role played how to say no to drugs. Everything that you think they should know, double check because they may not.

It sounds like you are doing a fantastic job with your some.

Ambilify was not effective for my daughter and it causes excessive weight gain, it is an antipsycotic used with Wellbutrin..or an SSRI of its likeness.
