my non verbal child is now starting the evaluation though the school district. when most parents want the quickest route I choose to do the more effective one . I myself am just starting my speech/audiologist degree. its NOT easy but has shinned some light on many areas of autism. my child is having a very difficult time with the pecs or visual . I am thinking its just not for her shell do the hand off just fine . but well not request nor look at the item ever.so I need to know my options.
she does not go to a speech pathology i am actually taking my masters in that. ") but just started.
WE WELL BEAT THIS TOGETHER
There are plenty of AAC devices out there to help pre-verbal or nonverbal children. We tried verbal victor which you can download on the iPad. It's fairly inexpensive and you can personalize it. My son liked it and actually began starting to speak (somewhat) after he used it.
We no longer use it bc he is using language.
There is also proloquo2go that some like.

If your daughter goes to an slp he/she may be able to recoomend something suitable for your daughter,
I love the app Speak for yourself. It uses motor planning and will grow with the child so they will not have to relearn where words are.
