I'm new to all this Speech Therapy, OT etc and I'm not quite sure of what is the role and what is OT suppose to do. Is it only sensory or also helping with the child being able to do day to day task. Are their any other types if therapy besides Speech and OT???

I found this on my daughter's school website.
OT generally works on fine motor skills, self-help skills, and sometimes (but not always) sensory processing/integration. SPD is unfortunately not recognized as an "official" disorder so there generally need to be motor skills goals & self-help skills goals in order to get insurance and/or the school district to pay for OT. My DD does not qualify for OT services through the school district because her fine motor skills aren't delayed enough to meet their criteria. She does, however, get private OT through our health insurance under the autism mandate.
