The school district thinks that they our better than we do. They take into consideration his mood and behavior when he gets home. They refuse to implement a 504 plan because he has good grades. I have all the proof that he needs certain things implemented but they still don't think he needs them, such as Speech Therapy and OT and social skills group. Tape all your meetings, that is my advice. A lot is said at those meetings that don't get written down, and then they pretend they never said it.

This is what they do and if you let them get away with it they will keep doing it you have to fight them and make sure they know you are serious. Do not sign or agree to anything unless it is what you want no matter how much they try to tell you they do not have to provide therapy. Get an advocate and if you cannot afford one at the very least threaten it. If you have to threaten a lawyer. Make their life miserable by calling the director of special Ed and the principle regularly. Tell them you are not going away until you get what you need.

They know they have to provide services but they are trying to save money so if you just go away they win. Not being negative but they will try to do as little as they can to save money and you cannot aloe them to do it. They know the law but relay on the fact that you don't.
