ABA, What functional skills has ABA helped your child with? My child is not responding well to simple tasks but things like potty training have come easily to him. I had the same problem with my 5 year old son. He has a photo graphic memory, scripts most of the day, and did not respond to 7 months of ABA the same way you described, hand clapping, basic skills. We pulled him from that company and found a new one. I was homeschooling and they have now taken on that role for me. There goals are all school based learning (math, reading, spelling, etc.). He made tremendous strides in just 1 month. Even his speech therapist has seen a lot of progress and less scripting. SO, I suggest you either have them change the approach or find another provider. We finally found the perfect one and we are making so much progress I can't beleive it. Keep hanging in there it will be a long road but worth it when you find the right therapists.
