He has been receiving speech and occupational therapy for almost 2 years, neither of which is covered by the insurance we have through my husband's employer. It does blow to be in one of the 16 states that doesn't have an insurance mandate for autism. http://www.autismspeaks.org/advocacy/states I live in Georgia and despite all the talk about the insurance mandate it failed again this week, for what, the last 4 years? So it doesn't matter what a governor says if the legislation can't pass. I haven't thought about buying more private insurance but I'd be very careful about reading what therapy is or isn't covered. Still amazes me how my insurance covers a lot but nearly nothing for my kid's ASD.

My wife, an RN, heard about it at work so we'll apply because we have no other choice as we're considering leaving backwards Georgia. Neither of us were born here or have family here so maybe it's time to move.
