For anyone that homeschools their child, what have you found to be the best high school curriculum?
Both of my daughters were homeschooled, our approach was not to use one particular cirriculum, but to pick and choose to each girl's strengths and weaknesses, focusing on their interests. You know your child best. If he works independently, or if he needs more structure or remediation, homeschooling can be done to accommodate his needs. It's very important to find out the homeschooling laws that pertain to your state, as each state is different, and may have different requirements to fulfill. Your computer or local library's homeschool section is a good place to begin to gather information. We have had a homeschool coordinator, since we began in the Fall of 1999, when our oldest was a 5th grader. We have also gone to homeschool conventions with speakers, activities, and vendors which help with planning cirriculum. I read your profile, and saw your son's age. How does he feel about being homeschooled? Does he have any ideas about what he would like to do? He has to be willing to put in the effort to learn, in order for it to be successful.
