I'm looking for good schools that offer special education programs on campus. Our son is doing some mainstreaming and would like to keep doing so but still have his special education class program to help him along. tried calling the district offices and since I don't have an address in their city/town right now. They say they cant help me
The thing is, we are going to buy our first home and don't want to buy a home without knowing our son has a good school/program to attend

I suggest you call the Regional Center in Lancaster and ask for someone who specializes in IEPs and ask them. You can also call the area SELPA as they have coordinators who are responsible for the special education programs in the different school districts that serve the local area. They can often times tell you how the programs are doing and help you to contact the right people at the schools who can help you decide. We had to relocate our two autistic boys after my husband had a heart attack, and went through the same pain. There is no website to rate the special education programs in schools and it is nearly impossible to evaluate them unless you go boots on the ground and observe them yourself. We picked a great one in the CNUSD in Corona in the Inland Empire. We found that they had a very active special education department that sponsored many parent meetings and after attending one, we were sure enough to move from Agoura. Good luck!
