Can anyone share their experiences with either of these two drugs for anxiety? They have been proposed for my 22 year old son by the head of pediatric neurology at a major teaching hospital.
My brother uses buspar and swears by it. No major side effects.
I've taken Propranolol to control my MS. While on it I started having episodes where my heart would race and then I would pass out. When I came to I would be very incoherent and unable to stay awake. I usually slept for the rest of the day after each episode. They ran several test to figure out what was going on and the only thing they could find out was it wasn't effecting my heart (heart monitor showed no changes despite what I was feeling). They think I was having seizures but I never had an episode while they were doing the EEG. They also considered severe panic attacks. When I stopped taking the Propranolol I stopped having the episodes. That was over a year ago.
Yep. He has been on it a little over a
month and we have seen improvements in social anxiety and academic performance. So far so good. :)
Thanks so much! Side effects are always one of my main concerns @A MyAutismTeam Member
