Does Anyone Know Of A Good Salon To Take My Toddler With ASD To In The Mesa, AZ Area?
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

My 26 month old went to Cool Cuts once & he cried throughout the whole haircut. Since then I've been doing my best to cut his hair at home. It's starting to look funny because his ends are curly, lol. I really need to get him to a professional, but can't find anyplace. Hoping some moms in my area can give me advice based on where you take your kids. Thanks in advance.

I did the same. And my poor Toomy end up with funny looking haircut. I Take him now to the girl that does my hair. She knows he is autistic, so I asked her not to use the electric shaver, that terrifies him. Just the scissors and also He sits there with his ipad to keep him entertained. That worked wonderful!

I know this sounds silly, but I know tons of people that do this. If you call your local salons and ask them if they would be willing to make a housecall....also- the local/ surrounding towns of nursing homes- they almost always come out as well

Jmm I would stop going with that person even for myself. A real good hairstylist cut anybody's hair. I Take Tommy to the hair cuttery in a mall close to home. Try to find a younger boy or girl stylist. Consider The ipad idea or game boy whatever. They sit there relax and play his game don't even notice when is done the haircut.

Unfortunately my stylist doesn't feel comfortable cutting toddlers hair, she doesn't want to accidentally cut him. He's very wiggly & pulls away when I cut his hair even with my husband holding him securely.
