Has anyone ever heard of this or have any experience with it? My mother in law came across this new story and passed it along to me this morning...

We have. We've done about 3 days so far. We do the videos at breakfast, lunch and dinner. My son is 2.5 and pays attention for most of the video clip, but he does get squirmy. They are short which is good, however I've had some issues with loading.

I am a web developer and therefore am familiar with video play. I don't like that we can't scrub through the video, because if I try to restart it I have to watch the whole clip all over again and my son grows tired.

I've had to reset my cable box each time we do the videos so I contacted Gemiini. I don't like that they don't have live chat and an available contact number. You have to submit your inquiries via a contact form. They did get back to me within 24 hours though and offered a refund for the video issues. Apparently they said they've been having some issues and are working on them.

I even contacted my cable company, we have premium high speed internet and other videos play so this was quite frustrating.

My son who is non-verbal did at least start moving his arms a little bit to the videos. We still need more time with them though to see the benefit.

The videos themselves are a bit quirky but they do the job. I do like how each video and the amount of times watched is indicated. I do like how you can set up multiple students, and create assignments. You can also handpick session for specific terms if you like. Also, I like that they implement signing into the videos if you choose.

Hope this was helpful. I will post more in another while after we get some more time...

For those who are keeping up with the updates here...

We still don't have any words from our Finn yet, but we have found the videos are giving us other benefits...

So it takes generally about 5 times or so before Finn is actually interested in a new clip. Then he really loves it, smiling, fidgeting his fingers in excitement, trying to pull the ipad closer. We removed all of his tv watching now so we do the video sessions three times a day so he doesn't get an overload of electronics.

He looks at our mouths now when we speak. He waits in anticipation when we ask things. I owe it to the ballerina for that one. When we recite lines from the video "What does a cow say" he looks right in our eyes then at our mouths and waits until we respond.

So overall his awareness and no-verbal responses have increased and improved. The therapist brought over farm animal puzzles today and when she asked Finn what each of them made, he would look at her eyes and wait for her. She was amazed!

While I aid he isn't speaking any words though, he IS however mouthing along. No sound comes out but he moves his lips with the words. This is a great step towards talking.

I'm happy so far with the progress, but anxious for him to speak.

Melita, any progress?

Hello Melita,

That's great! I think it sounds like you are making some progress. I think maybe that is the beginning stages; watching our mouths, becoming more aware when they hear the "Gemiini tone" (love how you put that), copying letters that's wonderful!!!

I definitely understand what you mean about trying to get the video time in. Luckily my husband bought me an ipad for christmas last year so I basically have dedicated that to him. It says on the table and I just prop it with its stand infront of this highchair.

Yeah so far I made these videos:

-Shapes mixed with colors ( he really love that)
-Animal Puppets (loves it)
-Simple Actions (Sit down, walk, run, etc) He like sot watch this one but it's not as fun so I threw or kept animal puppets mixed in.
-Body Parts
-Toys

Thats all we have been cycling for now. Still haven't taken the time to find if it's better to have my own sessions or use the pre-made ones. Ive been doing both. I obviously like the custom ones, but I don't see a count next to my custom sessions/assignments. I have to watch the tutorials again...

Anyhow, it is great to hear the update!

My son has apraxia as well. I wonder if that would prevent him from seeing results? Guess we won't know if we don't try!
