One I.E.P. team member had suggested T.S.S, son had that when he was in Kindergarten, but they could fully participate in the I.E.P. or add any of the goals that he was working on into his progress report, and I.E.P.
You tell them they need to make it fit. That is what you have to do at these meetings. Your child has an IEP and certain rights that are legal. Tell them you want SLP as many days a week as he/she has school. The school always tries to give you the least and you fight for the most.:)
When my son went to the public school. No matter how much I fought he didn't get more time. I ended up pulling him out of the public school. I pulled him out for other reasons too.
My children do not really have the intellectual disabilities but my daughter is severe autistic and nonverbal. Both of the children do ABA speech, OT and PT every day at school. My daughter is in residential so she has a one on one all day both at home and at school. All of her therapies include ABA techniques and all of her teachers are fully trained. She has made huge progress in the two years she has been in and she has gained communications skills that help with the therapies. She does take meds but we have been able to lower the dosage on all an eliminate some all together as she has come along.
You may want to have another CSE meeting make sure everything you want is in the IEP. I went throw this with school an they tried to get away with it. Long and behold I caught it on time and made them change it. Good luck
