It seems like my son's nose is always running like a cold kind of. I just wonder if it's just my son...
@A MyAutismTeam Member, yep, read the whole thread. It is okay to offer an additional view since I do have very allergic, inflamed kiddos (and I myself have chronic allergies) - in the PacNW, it's nearly impossible to find a time of year where we're not all having symptoms. I do have a different perspective to offer, and it's just a contrast, not a departure from yours. Best to you and yours.
My son was like that and about 10 years ago got allergy tested and started getting allergy shots and it has really helped.
Since I've been through the elimination strategies people speak of, with zero changes, I have a different perspective - there is a diagnosis of chronic rhinitis... literally, the nose just leaks all the time. Sometimes allergens are the culprit, sometimes the sinus cavities are inflamed by "who knows what". Try saline irrigation, it's super safe for kids, and can really help. We are a seasonal allergy family, so it would follow that year-round we're all having trouble with something! I guess I feel like not EVERYTHING can be blamed on ASD, or gluten, or dairy. Good luck!
Thank you! What is GFCF if you don't mind me asking?
