How old was your child when they became potty trained? What worked the best for you?

2.5--reading while on the potty or letting her use the Ipad only while she was on the potty got her to stay on long enough to go. I also used the warm water in that area to help promote the sensation to go.

My daughter just turned 3, but we're still working on it. It's been 2 months. We take her every 45 minutes. She's in underwear at home and when I go out, I put underwear and a pull up on top. We reinforce with chocolate pieces, when she initiates or poops, we give her 2 pieces. We first started with 10 minute intervals.

My 6yo was 4 1/2. He just was finally ready on his own. We also sat him on the potty backwards so that he felt comfortable and had something to hold on to so that he wouldn't fall in. He wouldn't use a potty chair or anything. It took us a year for him to wipe himself. We still have to double check him. He was afraid he would get pooh on his hand. Wet wipes have also helped.
